Safety Coordinator Fellow

 

Direct Supervisor: Director of Safety and Security (currently Caleb Weir)

JAARS Fellows is an 11-month, merit-based, professional opportunity that provides entry into a first career position, cultivates emerging leaders and unleashes the world of missions. Fellows join JAARS staff in key positions to make Bible translation and life transformation possible.

 

  • Develop Spiritually, Professionally, and Personally
  • Receive input from a professional in your field and a spiritual and personal coach.
  • Attend the Intercultural Communications Course. Learn how to further your interpersonal skills, understand differing worldviews, and deepen your relationship with God.
  • Dive into Perspectives and explore God’s global purpose.
  • Enjoy life skills training: everything from learning to drive a manual car to budgeting.
  • Discover Waxhaw, Charlotte, and the surrounding areas with your JAARS Fellows community.

 The Safety Coordinator Fellow will work closely with the Director of Safety and Security to ensure that JAARS is a safe and healthy place to serve. He or she will learn about safety best practices for a variety of work environments and assist in implementing and auditing them.

 

Job Responsibilities

Help draft policy, procedure and plans to shape organizational response to regular and exceptional workplace safety events

  • Assist in developing training plans and delivering content for organizational safety needs
  • Conduct recurring audits, inspections, investigations and training
  • Complete annual OSHA and EPA reports
  • Maintain JAARS Workers Compensation reporting and follow-up and JAARS hazard prevention plans
  • Other job-related duties as assigned by your manager

Preferred

Majors include Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, and Emergency Management
