Responsible for organizing and executing fundraising efforts for St. Joseph County Right to Life. This position will develop fundraising plans, participate in solving logistical issues, and collaborate with multiple colleagues.
Create Long-Term Plans
At the end of each fiscal year or quarter, this position is responsible for designing a comprehensive fundraising plan for the coming year or quarter. Each plan will be focused on generating revenue, encouraging participation, and boosting community involvement.
Maintain Donor Relationships
This position plays a big role in ensuring that the people who have donated to their organization are satisfied with the work that their money is helping to make possible. The Development Manager must regularly meet with major donors, keep them updated on recent events, and include them in the decision-making process.
Secure New Donors
In addition to maintaining good relationships with current donors, the Development Manager will also need to implement strategies for encouraging new donors to give to their organization. Doing so can involve hosting outreach events, using networking connections to get in touch with potential donors, and overseeing the creation of grant proposals. This will also involve coordinating quarterly appeal letters and securing sponsorships for events and programs.
Although SJCRTL employs a Program Manager to handle event organization, the Development Manager must participate as well. This position is responsible for helping to host our annual benefit dinner and coordinate the annual flower sale.
Once a donor has contributed a monetary gift to the organization, the Development Manager is responsible for ensuring the gift is properly processed and recorded. SJCRTL volunteers can perform the act of entering donation information, but it is the Development Manager’s responsibility to supervise those volunteers.
