Job Title:  Maintenance and Fleet Coordinator

Area/Location:  Facilities / Portland, Oregon

Reports To:  Executive Director, Cityteam Portland

Subordinates:  Volunteers

Classification:  Coordinator / 20-hours per week / non-exempt

Salary: Range starts at $18-hour, DOE

Cityteam Portland is seeking an experienced Maintenance and Fleet Coordinatorto ensure the successful day to day operation of our ministry facility and fleet. In this role you will be responsible for the appearance and ongoing and preventive maintenance of our building and vehicle fleet. Our Maintenance and Fleet Coordinatorshould be highly organized and experienced in light commercial equipment, vehicle, and facility maintenance and repair. We work in a fast-paced, occasionally unpredictable atmosphere with limited resources. No two days are ever the same, so we are looking for someone who can pivot quickly and exhibit grace in a Christ-like manner. Our ideal candidate will have a servant’s heart and have the expertise to ensure our facility operates in a safe and efficient way.


The Maintenance & Fleet Coordinator position is a 20-hour a week non-exempt position wrapped up in a Christian environment that values Teamwork, Accountability, Humility, Innovation, and Joy.



  1. Oversee all preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance projects.
  2. Perform skilled labor in construction, plumbing, electrical, equipment maintenance, carpentry, painting, and other related areas.
  3. Develop and maintain a list of needed repairs and improvements.
  4. Choose and work with vendors for equipment repair and maintenance.
  5. Manage the fleet of Cityteam Portland vehicles.
  6. Build a small team of client and volunteer drivers.
  7. Occasionally complete the pickup and deliveries of goods and donations.
  8. Solicit both participation in and financial support for facility projects as needed.
  9. Occasionally oversee volunteers and groups assisting with building projects.
  10. Ensure that all paperwork and bills are processed in a timely manner according to the guidelines established by the Finance Department.
  11. Communicate effectively with people from a wide variety of socioeconomic, education, and cultural backgrounds.
  12. Participate in Portland staff activities and meetings, as available.
  13. Help with other projects, as assigned by Executive Director.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 21 years of age or older
  • Valid Oregon Driver’s License with a clean record
  • No DUI in the past 10-years
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in equipment, vehicle, and facility maintenance and repair
  • Computer literate and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite


Preferred Education and Experience

  • 4-year degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Familiarity with drug and alcohol recovery principles

Work Conditions

  • Work hours are typically during the day with occasional evenings and weekends, depending on ministry needs
  • This position will need to be available by phone or email to address emergencies
  • This position will primarily work in a multi-story residential program environment
  • You will also work in an office environment and regularly use standard office equipment
  • This position will regularly drive to local businesses
  • Occasionally around wet, slippery floors and chemicals found in a professional kitchen

  • Must have an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Must be active in a local Christian body of believers or at least pursuing community with other Christ-followers
  • Must have compatible theology on major issues of Cityteam's Statement of Faith
