JOB SUMMARY

Cityteam is a Christian non-profit dedicated to supporting communities by meeting immediate needs and enabling lasting solutions for those struggling with poverty, homelessness, and addiction. Being part of Cityteam is not just a career but a calling. Whether we’re working on the front-lines in Programs or working behind the scenes in Support Services, we feel privileged to use our education, experience, and gifts to love people and bring glory to God.

The Career Specialist plays a major role in enabling lasting solutions in the lives of our Residential Program students. This requires compassion, empathy, and the ability to recognize, anticipate, and creatively help students visualize a more prosperous and realistic career pathway. The Career Specialist must hold the tenet that each and every person that walks through our doors can learn, regardless of his or her past.  The Career Specialist not only advocates for the student, but also motivates and inspires the student to explore and pursue opportunities that are within their reach. The Career Specialist will need to be adept at communicating with people from a variety of backgrounds, including those with advanced degrees, no diploma, business owners, and those who are poor, struggling with addiction, or from transitioning from jail. No two days are ever the same, so we are looking for someone who can pivot quickly and handle conflict with grace in a Christ-like manner.

The Career Specialist is a full-time non-exempt position. Beyond salary, Cityteam offers a great benefit package, including but not limited to Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance, Paid Vacation, Paid Holidays, Paid Sick Leave, and Retirement Benefits. All of this is wrapped up in a Christian environment that values Teamwork, Accountability, Humility, Innovation, and Joy.
