Position Summary: The Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to the Staff Services Director and other staff members within the department. The position will consist of various support and services related to day-to-day tasks and special projects.
Process, verify, and maintain personnel related documentation, including compensation, staffing, recruitment, training, performance evaluations, classifications, and employee leaves of absence.
Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
Enter and maintain data for each employee in Paylocity as well as providing electronic copies in their electronic file.
Work with department managers to gather information on staff for their personnel records.
Examine employee files to answer inquiries and provide information as needed.
Compile and prepare reports and documents pertaining to personnel activities.
Provide assistance in administering paperwork related to payroll, benefits, training, & review processes.
Assist with any other projects as assigned by the Staff Services Director.
Skills, Abilities, Characteristics and Physical Demand:
Excellent written, phone, and personal communication skills.
Ability to multitask and keep processes moving on multiple assignments.
Proficient in MS Office (especially Word and Excel), Google Suite, and email proficiency. Also in modern office procedures, databases, and recordkeeping.
Capable typist (avg. 50 wpm).
Must be organized, professional, and responsible with a strong attention to detail.
Able to relate and communicate technical and detailed information on HR subjects with all levels of staff and management.
Ability to handle complex tasks and special projects.
Motivated and a self-starter.
Ability to establish priorities, work independently and with a team, and able to work well without constant supervision.
Basic understanding of HR functions or a willingness to further learn and grow in this area.
Ability to maintain integrity and confidentiality.
