Worship / Music Minister

Part Time, Rochester Hills, MI – Heart of the Hills Christian Church

 Heart of the Hills Christian Church (Rochester Hills, Michigan) is currently accepting applications for the position of Worship Leader, part time hours. Heart of the Hills is a small, growing family of Christ followers in a non-denominational setting. The Worship Leader works under the direction of the Pastor or Elders. The responsibilities of the Worship/Music Minister include, but are not limited to, leading and mentoring a small worship team, planning/executing music-related worship for Sunday morning and Wednesday night, plus periodic and/or monthly prayer and praise gatherings for fellowship events. Our Worship Team leads us in a blend of contemporary and updated traditional worship songs, usually considered popular via CCLI or Christian radio.


  • Born-again believer, accepting Jesus as the only way to eternal life and accepting the ancient truths of the Apostles and Nicene Creeds
  • On-going, thriving love relationship with Christ and His church
  • Values love, family, relationships, integrity, purity, generosity, and humility (1 Tim. 3, Titus 1)
  • Traditional (conservative) values rooted in the unchanging truths of the Bible
  • Cherishes and leads others into the presence of the Lord
  • Able to give and receive constructive insights
  • Able to have fun, joke around, and minister at the same time
  • Team player, patient coach of all ages, high character
  • In excellent and accountable relationships with home church or spiritual leader(s)


  • Familiar with the dynamics of charismatic worship
  • Vocal lead, skilled on keyboard or guitar

 BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES (Weekly only listed)

  • Coordinate and lead creative, contemporary worship services (Sunday am, Wed pm)
  • Work with volunteer technician to coordinate music lyrics, video elements, lighting, etc.
  • Build, lead, shepherd, and rehearse with the vocalists, musicians and audio/visual team
  • Maintain and purchase needed equipment, plus oversee the stage/platform area

Preferably, we are looking for someone in the geographic area of Rochester Hills, MI as no relocation compensation will be included. Compensation is estimated at approx. $25 an hour with 6-10 hours per week and a minimum will be established to accomplish mutual satisfaction.
