Are you skilled in a variety of maintenance trade areas and do you enjoy leading teams to accomplish projects? If so, JAARS is seeking a full-time Maintenance Supervisor to lead our Maintenance department on a 500+ acre campus with over 60 buildings. This position is available for a volunteer or a staff person who raises support.
The Maintenance Supervisor will supervise a maintenance team and perform maintenance work to ensure JAARS operations continue to run smoothly and safely. This will include ensuring proper equipment is used, appropriate safety procedures are followed, and needed resources and supplies are available.
This is a 1.0 FTE (40 hrs.) position for a volunteer or a staff person who raises support
Must be able to work in the US
Supervise a team of maintenance technicians
Perform maintenance around the JAARS campus
Schedule and assign work orders and job duties and monitor performance to specified standards
Provide documentation, convey information, and coordinate the work to complete projects
Collaborate with site personnel, other tradesmen, and subcontractors
Requisition repairs of building utility systems
Schedule preventative maintenance of equipment and facilities
Maintain heating and cooling units and fire protection systems
Ensure that proper safety protocol is being followed
Encourage staff development of additional trade skills and abilities
Demonstrate a deep and growing walk with the Lord Jesus that includes your personal growth and the ability to support others in their spiritual growth

Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Well-rounded maintenance background
Specific skills in a trade preferred
Some management experience helpful
Ability to lead and guide other maintenance workers in planning and managing projects

We need more staff to make in possible. Of those who work at the JAARS Center in Waxhaw, N.C., 50% are volunteers either short- or long-term, full- or part-time, and of all ages and training backgrounds. Missionaries and a few paid personnel round out the staff.
