Job Description

POSITION PROFILE

 

To oversee all staffing, booking, and shipping needs of conventions. To provide additional administrative assistant work.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Oversee staffing needs of homeschool conventions.
  • Oversee booking/scheduling of all homeschool convention and any needed booth requirements.
  • Oversee shipment of small banners, bookshelves, catalogs, scope and sequence, free materials, giveaways, etc. to all events and conventions.
  • Setup website convention logins.
  • Manage conventions on website map.

 

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Assist with scheduling speaker workshops at conventions.
  • Assist with scheduling of Distance Learning teachers at conventions.
  • Attend conventions to assist and evaluate as needed (3 to 5 times per year).
  • Order business cards on demand and other material needs for HomeWorks Consultants.
  • Order inventory needs as requested by Operations Manager.
  • Order gifts or promotional materials as needed.
  • Attend Fall and Winter management meetings.
  • Assist with convention crate shipments.
  • Team Assistant: Organize events and management meetings, organize customer events, send favors as needed (eg: gift cards for the team)

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

  • Considerable organizational and time management skills to deal with data from multiple sources.
  • Quick learner with great attention to detail and communication with others.
  • Familiar with the BJU Press product line would be helpful but necessary.
  • Experienced computer knowledge utilizing Excel, Word, Outlook and video communications.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

  • Substantial amount of time utilizing a computer keyboard and viewing a monitor.
  • Moderate travel, both driving and air.
