Since 1988, Providence Network, an urban faith-based nonprofit, has provided transitional & affordable housing programs in a supportive community for individuals and families seeking recovery from poverty, homelessness, addictions and domestic violence. The program offers counseling, spiritual growth, life-skills training, education, job development, and positive role modeling from live-in staff. This holistic approach helps heal Denver’s hurting from the inside out.
This position is at Joy House, a two-year transitional program for women and children who have been victims of domestic violence and are often dealing with other hardships such as homelessness and addiction. The program operates in an apartment complex in the Capitol Hill area of Denver and you will be part of a team that works together to build community and implement this program.
As a Care Coordinator, you will be assigned the case management of up to four residents. This includes mentoring them, co-creating goal plans and holding them accountable so that they may heal and grow to become self-sufficient. You may also be assigned certain house maintenance and administrative tasks. Along with daytime hours, the position includes some evening and weekend rotations.
The responsibilities of the position require that you live in the home. Dinners are provided and shared as a community two evenings per week.
Strong sense of calling to this population and a mature Christian walk is essential
Experience managing others is a plus
Flexible and able to manage crisis situations
Understanding of addictive behavior is preferable
Ability to hold people accountable to rules and expectations with a restorative approach
Appreciates the importance of positive role modeling within the context of a community
Enthusiastic and committed team player
Comfortable signing Providence Network’s Statement of Faith (available upon request)
