  • Our desire is to raise up a generation of disciples for Jesus Christ by partnering with families and others in the congregation to create SHARE (Safe, Happy, Active, Relational, Engaging) environments for discipleship.

  • It is our desire to maximize the opportunity we have to disciple children on Sunday mornings, yet to explore other opportunities in the time between Sundays…both inside and outside the walls of our church.

  • We understand that good environments for children are based on equipping both families and children’s ministry workers for this God-given opportunity to disciple children.

Creek Kids Mission Statement:

Creek Kids exists to partner with families to SHARE Jesus in order to raise up a generation of children who passionately follow Him.


Description of Children’s Pastor/Director Role:

The Children’s Pastor (or Creek Kids Pastor) is to give leadership and oversight to the spiritual growth and development of children ages birth through 5th grade. This includes curriculum selection, volunteer recruitment, training and development, classroom management, and operational management necessary to guide a ministry that is focused on raising up a generation of children who want to follow Jesus.


Children's Pastor/Director Responsibilities Include:

  • Enthusiastically cast and lead an innovative vision for Creek Kids Ministry that supports children, families and volunteers. To include development and promotion of:

    • weekly Sunday children ministry experiences

    • a presence of Creek Kids ministry in the Beaufort community through children and family outreach events (such as our Sports Camp)

    • regular periodic enrichment activities for families.

    • family summer outreach events for grades 1-5

    • holiday/special event children’s programs for Christmas, Easter etc.

    • child dedication services

  • Regularly evaluate, select and/or develop curriculum for a children’s weekly Christian education program

  • Implement children’s registration, classroom management, and security policies/practices in support of weekend services and special events.

  • Direct the recruitment, training, and development of volunteers as needed to staff children’s ministry classrooms and special events.  Use a variety of recruitment techniques, including personal invitation.

  • Lead the creative use and proactive upkeep of children’s ministry facilities and grounds.

  • Assist in the development of an annual budget for children’s ministries and manage spending.

  • Function as a member of the church’s Pastoral Staff

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Education, Experience, and Compensation

The leadership of Tidal Creek is ready to add someone to our team who brings a strong background of education and experience to the role as Children’s Pastor/Director.

Required experience/education:

  • A strong understanding and successful application of childhood spiritual development.

  • A degree in childhood education or children’s ministry is preferred.

  • 7-10 years experience in Children’s Ministry with 5 years of experience in Children’s Ministry Leadership

**Please note, the compensation for this position is definitely commensurate with a strong background in Children’s Ministry.
