Preaching: Preparing and delivering sermons so that the Word of God is proclaimed with clarity and conviction, bringing its power to bear on the needs of individuals, the church, the community, and the world. Teaching: Enabling another to learn using methods and materials appropriate for the learner's age and situation. 

Job Description:  First Baptist Church, a growing multicultural congregation of 100+ attendees in North Platte, NE, seeks a dedicated Pastor to join our team and support a smooth retirement transition for our current Lead Pastor. This HYBIRD role will work closely under the leadership of our Lead pastor, ultimately taking on increasing responsibilities that include:

• Preaching, teaching, and leading small groups as needed.
• Assisting with evangelism and community outreach.
• Overseeing facility maintenance and operations.
• Supporting ministry expansion (e.g., youth, children’s programs) with fresh ideas and energy.
• Planning for the church’s future with a long-term commitment to North Platte.

Qualifications:

• Strong Bible knowledge and proven preaching/teaching ability.
• Mature believer bringing seasoned experience and practical wisdom.
• Vibrant personal spiritual life, compatible with Baptist theology and our congregation. (1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, 1 Peter 5)
• Administrative skills or willingness to learn, with shepherding instincts.
• Desire to engage actively with the church and community, ideally with family involvement.

Salary: TBD (Competitive, based on experience and qualifications)
