Our unique residential ministry to troubled/ at-risk youth seeks dorm workers who desire to minister to young people in a residential setting.
Since 1981, Freedom Academy has ministered to troubled and at-risk youth on our residential campus in upstate New York. Our conservative, Bible based ministry seeks to offer families and their struggling teenagers hope in a Christian residential setting.
Applicants should be willing to commit themselves to a demanding ministry revolving around ministring to at-risk youth. Duties include supervision of daily acitivites, planning of activities, and counseling young people as issues arise. Applicants must demonstrate an abiding faith in Jesus Christ whose life serves as an example of the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. All staff, and particularly dorm workers, are charged with mentoring young people as they learn to walk with Christ.
Experience in residential or youth ministry is preferred but not required.
Our dorm setting (as opposed to house parent/ cottage setup) allows staff to maintain their own residence and does not require that they reside with the young people. That makes our ministry a great place for all applicants, including those with children.
