The major purpose and responsibility of the Worship Director is to support the Senior Pastor by providing leadership to all ministries associated with department in order to present a Breathtaking worship experience by setting the atmosphere as the congregation prepares their minds for the word of God.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
GENERAL
- Pray for Senior Pastor, ministerial and administrative staff and Church family.
- Support the financial obligations of the church through tithe and offerings.
- Be early and prepared for all worship services, rehearsals, and scheduled meetings.
- Must establish and foster exemplary relationships with Staff/non-staff workers, church membership, business partners and community at large.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
WORSHIP SERVICE DUTIES:
e Plan, Oversee, and Evaluate all special worship related events
e Research video and background concepts for media
e Hold planning meetings with all worship related ministries (media, sound, dancers, drama, intercessors)
e Conduct extensive rehearsals for all worship related ministries
e Be able to sing, play or teach worship areas
e Be able to develop ministries under this position (leadership development)
e Be able to conduct rehearsals and walk thru for worship services
e Be able to plan and manage the church calendar for worship related activities
e Oversee the church calendar with focus on worship
FACILITATION OF MINISTRIES
e Supervise all worship paid and volunteer staff
e Develop creative, effective, and efficient ministries
e Recruit, nurture, and train all Ministry Workers
e Work with assigned ministries to develop cohesive strategies
e Provide training, seminars and other developmental programs to enhance leadership
e Facilitate Worship Ministries through the following channels:
Ø All choirs and praise teams
Ø All bands
Ø Drama Ministry
Ø Dance Ministries
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
§ Must be a worshipper and demonstrate a lifestyle committed to gaining exposure in all genres of worship.
§ Requires a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with experience in the field or in a related area.
§ Demonstrates expertise and resourcefulness in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
§ Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
§ Leads and directs the work of others.
§ A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
§ Must possess the following skills: strategic planning, verbal and written communication, motivation, media research, event planning, administration, conflict resolution, multitasking, and project management.
§ Must demonstrate the ability to clearly embrace the style of worship expected, gain exposure from various resources, interpret the Pastor’s vision, integret it into our worship experience.
§ Must be a self-motivated person who is able to be effective when working independently without supervision and produce results.
§ Must possess a gentle and humble spirit and be willing to grow and be taught.
