The Young Adult/Worship Pastor leads in ministry with young adults and in worship. The Young Adult/Worship Pastor strives to equip God’s people to obey God’s call, through the ministry of Olivet Baptist Church, leading people to express their love for God through increasing faithfulness and fruitful spiritual growth and multiplication, building a vibrant church community, and embracing the world through Gospel centered ministry, from the immediate neighborhood and to the ends of the earth. This is a part time ministry position, reporting to the senior pastor. This position can develop into a fulltime role.

Evidence of the fruit of the spirit developing in your life (as per Galatians 5:22-23)
Ability to articulate how their spiritual giftings will influence their approach to this ministry
Foundation of relevant formal education (undergraduate, graduate degrees, other certification, etc.) or equivalent work experience
Excellent cross cultural and interpersonal communication skills
Minimum two to three years’ experience leading worship teams/pastoral ministry
Ministry Outreach and Development
Build and lead a team for Young Adult ministries, including:
Young Adult Sunday School, Bible studies, and small group ministries.
Outreach strategies for reaching non-Christian young adults with the Gospel.
Discipleship among young adults that creates disciple making followers of Jesus.
Mission trips, spiritual retreats, and fellowship activities among young adults.
Invest in training and reading materials for continuing growth as a minister with young adults.
Support worship in our current services, and when Olivet launches its contemporary worship service, develop a worship team, and regularly lead in that setting.
Coach and equip the team so that each team member grows in their worship leadership.
Prepare worship plans on a weekly basis in conjunction with pastoral staff.
Lead worship team practice to prepare for worship leadership.
Prepare relevant technologies (digital media) for worship services.
Invest in ongoing learning and growth in worship leading abilities.
