The Falls Church Episcopal (www.thefallschurch.org/jobopenings), a radically welcoming, thriving, transformative church with colonial era roots and a new church plant’s ethos in a bustling suburb of Washington, DC, is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time Director of Youth Ministries. Proud of being simultaneously one of the oldest and youngest congregations in the country, The Falls Church longs for an organized, creative director with a unique skill set to bring a high level of passion and energy for harnessing the rich traditions of the past while laying the groundwork for a wave of teens expected to age into Youth Ministry from an active Sunday School with 100+ elementary-age participants. With relational gifts for loving youth where they are while reaching and inspiring during their formative years, candidates should be able to teach and challenge youth to respond to God’s call to service as a significant aspect of Christian discipleship. In addition to building commitment and trust with parents, training and equipping volunteers, and steering a Spirit-led program of mission and ministry opportunities, the director will be an integral part of a vibrant, self-starting staff passionate about The Falls Church and its history and mission. The congregation has tripled in size in the last five years, and this position will partner with a new Director of Children and Family Ministries to support birth through young adult spiritual formation as well as help bridge the student transition between elementary and middle school ministries.
This is a non-ordained position in which the ideal candidate will have a college degree, several years of experience leading a dynamic youth ministry program, and a strong passion for the Christian faith, preferably consistent with the Episcopal tradition. We welcome your resume and cover letters for consideration and ask that they be sent to Aly.EatonMinistryArchitects.com.
