About OABC: Orangeburg Avenue Baptist Church is a multigenerational, Bible-believing, Southern Baptist (SBC) church in Modesto, CA. We have an average of 250 attending on a Sunday morning. Our staff is small and includes our Senior Pastor, our Minister of Youth & Music, and our Finance Secretary.

Job Description: OABC is looking for a Children’s Ministry Director who will partner with us to raise our Children’s ministry to the next level through passionate leadership, organized administration, and fresh vision. They will report to our Minister of Youth & Music.

Clearly defining current ministry reality
Implementing an overarching strategy to effectively engage and disciple the children and families of our OABC community
Overseeing and participating in Sunday School, Children’s Church, TeamKid (Mid-week Program), VBS, all other child-related activities (2 years – 5th grade)
Recruiting, retaining an supporting thriving volunteer teams who are doing the work of the ministry (Eph 4:11-12)
Improving and developing clean, vibrant, and welcoming children’senvironments
Ensure consistency of quality and safety/security across all children's ministries and activities.
Overseeing the annual Children’s & Family Ministrybudget
Creating an annual calendar and a communication plan for families, to keep them well informed in a timely and well thought out manner, as well as to invite full participation
Participating in all staff responsibilities including, but limited to, meetings, budgets, church-wideactivities
Championing the Children’s & Family Ministry as a vital part of the entire OABC community, rather than as a “detached”ministry
Collaborating with youth minister to ensure a smooth and seamless transition every year for kids transitioning into the youth ministry
