Our Homewood law firm seeks a friendly and experienced part-time administrative assistant to greet clients, answer telephones and direct calls, schedule appointments, take client payments and draft receipts, and perform other legal clerical duties and projects as needed. The candidate will need to have a general understanding of family law, estate planning, probate including guardianship and decedent’s estates, chapter 7 bankruptcy, real estate, and business law to determine if the caller is requesting help in one of the areas we practice, to be able to schedule consultations accurately. Some experience in these areas is a plus.
Prospective candidates should have at least 2 years of administrative assistant experience and be proficient in Microsoft Office and Outlook, with the ability to learn Abacus Law. The candidate is required to have good grammar and writing skills, with a proven record of strong follow-up and organizational skills. This position requires a confident person who has good work ethics, the ability to multi-task, exceptional attention to detail, and must be a great team player.
This candidate will work along with our full time Legal Administrative Assistant and our Paralegal, for 16 hours each week, preferably from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
