Miami Rescue Mission is a Christian Social Services Agency/Ministry, located in downtown Miami. Since 1922, Miami Rescue Mission has been serving the homeless in South Florida, providing shelter, rehabilitation, addictions counseling, and offering life-changing opportunities to homeless men, women, and children, with the love of Christ.
The Community Development Representative is responsible for contacting community organizations such as businesses, faith-based organizations, schools, and other community leaders for the purpose of building relationships, and engaging them to partner with Broward Outreach Center for conducting drives and getting financial support. Duties include daily telephone contact with local community leaders and businesses, as well as assisting with special outreaches/events (may involve evenings and weekends). Incumbent will also represent the Mission on speaking engagements within the community. This position will also be responsible for compiling reports and some data entry.
Education/Experience : Requires a high school diploma and 1 – 2 years related experience in fundraising, sales, public relations or customer relations. Prefer candidates with a Bachelors degree in Public Relations, Communications, or Business Administration. Must be proficient in MS Office applications and be able to multi-task while paying attention to details. The ideal candidate will have a professional demeanor and possess excellent public speaking, organizational and written communication skills.
