SUMMARY: Project manage the design and production of print, digital media and web projects, ensuring standards of excellence on all jobs in English and/or Chinese. Coordinate various requirements of church ministries/departments and external vendors to create and execute design projects. Design some of the projects in-house. Manage FCBCLA’s media identity, ensuring brand cohesion and visibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Project manage print, digital media and web projects within budget and deadlines
Determine which projects (or parts of projects) to produce in-house or externally, and source projects appropriately
Coordinate with volunteers, freelance designers, print vendors, and/or contractors to produce and complete projects
Create and produce visual elements in-house for some of FCBCLA’s print, web, video, and apps following the FCBCLA brand guide
Edit and optimize designs submitted by ministries for print, digital, or video display
Design and produce campus signage, banners, etc.
Assist in editing and print production (printing, cutting, folding, etc.)
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
B.F.A. in graphic design or B.A. in related field; or 1-2 years of experience in the field or related area; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Design experience in multiple platforms including, but not limited to print, web and social media. Must understand design nuances that impact these platforms.
Proficient in current design tools and media disciplines

Must be a born again Christian; have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart for ministry

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Good verbal and written communication skills in English required. Proficient verbal and written communication skills in Chinese (Cantonese) required. Proficiency in spoken Mandarin a plus.
OTHER SKILLS:
Extensive knowledge of professional graphic design and office software including:
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe InDesign
- Acrobat
- Microsoft Office—Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Solid working knowledge of print production processes
Proven experience with digital design such as website design, apps, and email template design
Some knowledge of video and motion graphic software is beneficial but not required
Must display originality and fluency of ideas
Active listening skills; able to comprehend oral and written information
Good proofreading and editing skills
Independent self-starter who demonstrates sound decision-making and judgment
Good organization and time management skills to complete multiple projects with competing deadlines
Team player who works well with others; able to delegate and coordinate work
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Sedentary work, with occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of objects weighing up to twenty pounds. Talking, hearing, seeing and keyboarding is required with occasional stooping, crouching and reaching. Position requires approximately 90% sitting and 10% walking or standing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Normal office environment.
HOURS:
Full-time; Monday – Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Occasional Saturdays
