Awana helps churches and parents worldwide raise children and youth to know, love and serve Christ. Based in Streamwood, Illinois, Awana is the only organization with fully integrated evangelism and discipleship programs for ages 2 to 18 that actively involves parents, volunteers, and church leaders. Each week children and youth participate in Awana at over 25,000 churches globally.
We are currently seeking candidates for a VP, Finance & Operations/CFO to join our headquarters leadership team effective July 1, 2013. This key ministry position directs and coordinates the activities of the Finance & Operations Division, which includes the Finance, Risk Management/Legal, Distribution, Purchasing/Production, and Information Services Departments.
The VP, Finance & Operations/CFO ensures the fiscal integrity of our global ministry and directs ministry activities to conform to domestic and international regulatory requirements, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), Evangelical Counsel for Financial Accountability (ECFA) standards, and risk management policies to safeguard the assets of the organization. The successful candidate will serve as a member of the Global Leadership Team, and is responsible for liaison to the Board of Directors Finance Committee.
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, operations, or related field, Master's degree (M.B.A. or M.S.), five to ten years of senior level experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA designation, international experience, and previous non-profit experience are desirable.
