Job Title: Donation Processing Specialist Area/Location: San Jose, California Reports To: Donation Processing Manager Subordinates: Volunteers
Date Submitted for Revision: 2.2.18
Date Approved: 2.2.18
Classification: Specialist / Full time / Non-Exempt Salary: Range starts at $19 hour, DOE
The Donation Processing Specialist is a member of the small 3-person DP Department, so we are looking for someone with good communication skills, is open and receptive to feedback, can take direction, and is able to handle conflict in a Christ-like manner. The Donation Processing Specialist will take direction from the DP Manager and Assistant Managers. The person in this position must be able to work on multiple projects, maintain the highest level of accuracy, and meet deadlines without constant direction. Our Donation Processing Specialist must have strong customer service skills, be approachable, and be team-oriented.
The Donation Processing Team works behind the scenes to support all of Cityteam’s programs and ministries, ensuring donor information is kept at the highest confidentiality and that donations are tracked and processed accurately. The day-to-day record keeping is repetitive, but the rush of the holidays will definitely keep you on your toes. You will be cross- trained to provide back up for the other Donation Processing staff. In addition to the regular processing of mail and donations, the Donation Processing Specialist will also be a key member of the special events team, providing support setting up, processing payments, answering questions, and doing whatever needs to get done.
Due to the sensitive nature of this position, you will often work behind closed doors of the Donation Processing room, so if you thrive on a lot of stimulation and social interactions, this position may not be an ideal fit for you. Don’t worry, you won’t be working in isolation in a drab environment. Our team is colorful and fun, and we like to joke around, especially when our caffeine kicks in.
