The five United Methodist churches of the Dundalk-Edgemere area are seeking an individual to serve as coordinator for youth and young adults. Dundalk is a well-established, predominately blue-collar community facing economic challenges; it is located in southeastern Baltimore County just east of the city of Baltimore, Maryland.
The chosen candidate must have a passion for sharing the love of Jesus, possess knowledge of Christian theology and be familiar with the theology and polity of the United Methodist Church. The candidate must be compassionate and understanding of the struggles of today’s youth and be able to build strong relationships with teens, young adults and their families as s/he gives vision and direction for the faith development of the youth and young adults of the five churches and the surrounding community.
The selected candidate will also provide leadership training for youth and adults working with youth, implement team-building exercises, and lead youth in hands-on mission projects as well as assist with musical, technical and creative elements related to offering passionate worship in the churches.
A bachelor’s degree in youth ministry and/or music is desired, and preference will be given to persons who have taken seminary courses in the area of youth ministry and worship. In keeping with United Methodist policy, the chosen candidate must submit to a criminal background investigation (CBI). Salary for this full-time position will be commensurate with experience and skills.
