St. Andrews-Covenant Presbyterian Church is seeking a part-time (30 hours per week) Director of Children’s Ministry who will be primarily responsible for:
Ø Providing pastoral leadership for the Children’s Ministry (birth-5th grade)
Ø Recruiting, equipping and encouraging volunteers to serve within the various ministries for Children
Our Church:
Ø A 1500 member Presbyterian Church (PCUSA)
Ø Located in downtown Wilmington, NC
Ø With a thriving children’s ministry in place that includes approximately 200 children (birth-5th grade)
Our Children’s Ministry Mission: To partner with parents so that EACH child from birth through fifth grade will know that God loves them and invites them into the Body of Christ. And teach them to respond to the word of God through: Worship, Discipleship, Fellowship, Service and Outreach.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Oversee Rotation Sunday School
Ø Coordinate Wednesday night children’s programs
Ø Direct and Organize Vacation Bible School
Ø Supervise nursery staff
Ø Participate in leadership of weekly worship (Children’s Sermons)
Ø Assist in the development of various outreach and fellowship activities for children and their families
Personal Characteristics Desired:
Ø Devoted and growing believer in Jesus Christ
Ø Knowledge or experience in a Presbyterian Church, preferred.
Ø Understands the Orange Concept
Ø Enjoys interacting with parents and children
Ø Experience in recruiting and encouraging volunteers
Ø Experience in children’s programming
